*If you have a small bamboo steamer, you may use it to steam this dish
** Flavoured rice powder is made up of 70% ordinary rice and 30% glutinous rice, stir-fry with star anise and brown peppercorn until the rice become yellowish-brown, cooled and mashed into a powder
Ingredient
300g pork spareribs
250g sweet potatoes
1 cup flavoured rice powder**
1 Tbsp chopped green onion
Seasoning:
2 tbsp light color soya sauce
1 tbsp wine
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tbsp sweet soy bean paste
1/2 tbsp hot bean paste
2 tbsp oil
2 tbsp water
1/4 tsp black pepper
Procedures
1. Cut the spareribes into pieces 2cm long. Put into a bowl and marinate with the seasonings for 1/2 hour.
2. Add the flavored rice powder in, mix with spareribs thoroughly. Arrange in a steaming bowl.
3. Peel sweet potatoes, cut into 1" cubes and place on top of spareribs. Steam over high heat for about 1 hour.
4. Turn the bowl over onto a platter to ermove the spareribs. Sprinkle chopped green onion over the spareribs and then pour 1 tbsp heated oil over the green onions.
5. Serve hot.

I had saw this "Flavoured rice powder" from books before as they used it for steaming... So u make it from scratch or you bought this powder? If u bought it, can u tell me where can i get it? Thanks
